Our story
Built by our family, for yours.
Milestone Vault was inspired by Rob, who received a pile of heartfelt letters from family and friends on his 60th birthday. It made him realise how much he would have loved one more message from his own dad, who was no longer here.
So we built a way for words like these to arrive at life's biggest moments, even when we can't be there to say them ourselves. Rob, this is so your words can be there for your children's 60ths too.

What happens to my letters if Milestone Vault ever closes?
We intend to be here for the long term. If we ever had to close, we promise to give everyone advance notice, give you the chance to export or receive your letters, and do everything we reasonably can to deliver or return every letter entrusted to us. Read our Vault Promise
How do you know when a milestone has happened?
Letters for a set date, like a birthday, are released on that day. For moments like a wedding or the birth of a first child, we let your loved one know a letter is waiting for them, without revealing what it says. When the moment comes, they sign in, confirm it has happened, and open it.
What if I just don't sign in for a while?
Nothing is released just because life gets busy. Letters for after you're gone are only released after at least six months of inactivity and several check-in emails that all go unanswered. One click on any check-in email, or simply signing in, keeps your letters safely waiting.
Who can read my letters?
Only you and the person you wrote to. Every letter is encrypted, letters are never sent by email, and your loved one reads theirs by signing in to their own private Letterbox. We never read, sell or advertise with your letters.
Is it a subscription?
No. You pay once: £29 for three letters to loved ones, or £79 for fifteen. Writing letters to your future self is free.
Can I change a letter after I've written it?
Yes. Come back and edit as often as you like, until you mark the letter as finished.
Can I give a Milestone Vault as a gift?
